Michael and I flew into Oakland this past week for his Mission Presidents' Homecoming. We decided to get there early Saturday morning to spend some time in San Francisco, since it was only about 20 min. away from Oakland. I got carried away taking pictures... SF is such a fun city to visit. Saturday night we drove to Union City and The Gingery's (Michaels Mission President and his wife) had a big dinner at their home for all the previous missionaries that could attend. It was so fun to see and talk to all the missionaries from Michael's mission that I have heard so much about. It was great to see the Gingery's again, they were so welcoming and generous to have such a fun get together for all of us. I got a kick out of sitting around listening to Michael and all the guys he served with telling stories from their mission. It was neat to see a different side of Michael, he truly loved his mission and he loves the Gingerys as if they were his parents. We were so lucky to be able to attend their homecoming, it was so uplifting for both of us.
Pics of the Farmers Market, Fishermans Wharf SF.
These two bands were really fun to listen to.
Very talented musicicans playing Folk/Bluegrass.
The fruit was amazing. Michael is eating
berries that are a cross between a raspberry and
a blackberry, quite delicious.
One man band, you wouldn't believe this guy.
Beautiful Architecture, SF.
We shared a strawberry crepe, yummy.
The Gingery's had someone set up a photo booth in their
home so they could capture some pictures from the night.
I love this picture of Michael, he looks genuinely happy.
The Gingery's and most of their missionaries, some
couldn't make it.
This pic was only fitting.
That is Alcatraz behind me.
The Pier where all the sea lions are laying in the sun.
It is amazing what they are doing to protect these animals,
I am very impressed.
This sea lion reminded us of Zig, he is always rolling over on his back.

Brad's mission president still has reunions and they are so much fun. (been home for 10yrs) It is so fun to see them all together and meet the people you hear all the stories about. I tell them that the stories get better and better each time I go to a reunion!!
Looks like you guys had a ton of fun.
It looks like you guys are having a great summer! I'm so jealous of your LP trip. I've only been once and it was like 7 years ago. It's time to go again. See you later today!
Hey Abbie,
Every once in awhile I'll click onto your blog from Marci's. Do you care if I add you to my list of friends? I hope you're doing well. Your trip looks really fun. We're going to SF over Labor day. Any suggestions on must-see stuff?
